Jean-Marc Nattier: Le duc de Richelieu, maréchal de France, 1732.

In spite of a deplorably defective education, Louis François Armand de Vignerot du Plessis, duc de Richelieu, attained distinction as a diplomat and general. He successfully defended Genoa against the Austrians in 1747 and expelled the British from Minorca in 1756. He had a reputation as a man of exceptionally loose morals, it is said Choderlos de Laclos based the character Valmont in Les Liaisons dangereuses on him.
